DISCOVER THE RESTORATIVE POWER OF ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture has been utilized for centuries in the treatment of countless conditions by restoring the body’s own auto-regulatory and self-healing capabilities. Treatment is based on a system of meridians which traverse the entire body. The acupuncture points found on these channels are high density areas of microcirculation, lymph, and connective tissue which communicate with the brain, regulate hormones, stimulate the immune system, and relax the nervous system. Thus, one needle echoes throughout the whole body.

Acupuncture in the west has largely become synonymous with the treatment of myofascial pain conditions. While acupuncture is very effective in the treatment of this type of pain, it’s scope extends far beyond it. In fact, the perspective of Chinese Medicine extends beyond the narrow view of any one individual pathology or complaint to address the larger living and interdependent system.

Acupuncture is effective in the treatment of allergies, insomnia, anxiety, hormonal imbalance, bowel disorders, and much more.

BALANCE IS NOT SOMETHING YOU FIND.

IT IS SOMETHING YOU CREATE.

KATHERINE JAEGER, MS LAC

Katherine Jaeger is a licensed and New York board certified acupuncturist. She earned her Masters of Science from Tri-State College of Acupuncture. Her clinical practice interweaves Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the Japanese style of Kiiko Matsumoto (KM), and Acupuncture Physical Medicine (APM) with trigger point therapy. In addition, she is fully certified in Facial Rejuvenation acupuncture and using oils & hydrosols to hydrate, nourish and fortify the skin for the ultimate glow. She is additionally pursuing certification with the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM).

Since the early days of her own journey into acupuncture, Katherine has been insatiably drawn to exploring its counterculture and complementary understanding of health and harmony in the physical body. While struggling with anxiety and insomnia in her mid-20s, her mother suggested trying acupuncture and after an apprehensive first appointment she was hooked. Acupuncture opened a door through which she began to understand in a new way the the intimate connection between the mind, body, and environment. Having been raised to believe that the greatest medicine is that of prevention, it was thrilling to find this resonance interwoven at the very foundation of Chinese Medicine.

It is has long been Katherine’s desire to participate in a medical model that accounts for the totality of the person - a medicine that recognizes healing as a function of multiple levels. For her this dream unfolded in the field of Chinese Medicine. Full health by definition must be integrative. While we are fortunate to have the increasingly deep and specialized knowledge contributed by modern medicine, in our efforts to go deeper and specialize more, we have forgotten that all our parts function in a larger system. Systems inherently need harmony to work. Fundamentally, health and healing are more about systems than parts and to experience enduring health we need to make this our path.
